Complimentary therapies are not intended as a substitute for your doctor's care. Always consult a qualified medical practitioner for new conditions, worsening of an existing condition or unexplained pain. However the therapies I offer work well with medical care. Ask me!

At the first session details of your problem will be taken, together with a relevant medical history, and you will be given a full explanation of what to expect from the initial session and any subsequent follow up sessions. Professional hypnotherapists give a completely confidential service.
When you are hypnotised you will become pleasantly relaxed and free from tension. There is feed back between mind and body and as the body relaxes the conscious mind relaxes too, allowing access to the unconscious. You remain aware of where you are and what you are doing, but because the experience is so pleasant, you allow your conscious mind to float free. You can, however, come back to full awareness at any time you choose feeling wonderfully refreshed. Because of this some people feel they haven't been in trance when in fact they have.
Some of the other signs of hypnosis you may be able to detect are: fluttering of the eyes or eyelids; swallowing; feelings of heaviness or lightness; a slowing in the rhythm of your breathing; a feeling of sinking deeper into the chair; time distortion; little muscle jerks in your hands, arms, feet or legs. However you may not always be put into trance - there are many techniques which are very powerful without trance induction.
Be reassured a hypnotherapist cannot make you do something that you would not normally do. Nor would the professional hypnotherapist seek to make you do so. And you will come out of trance. You chose to go into it and you can choose to come out of it. In any event the session ends with you being guided out of the trance state.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Simple problems like smoking may need only one session. More complicated cases will require more. This can be discussed at the first session.
Precautions
Hypnosis is a complementary therapy and not a substitute for your doctor's expertise. If you have an illness or injury always seek your doctor's advice.
